Get to know me

Hi, I am Catherine Connolly but my friends call me Cat. Thank you for visiting my website! Please take your time to view some of my loves and passions.

On this site, you will find that I am extremely creative and I love the arts. Another passion that I have is a love for law because I dream of becoming a judge and a professional mediator attorney. I’m eager to gain the legal knowledge needed to promote justice and resolve conflicts for those who can’t advocate for themselves.

My involvement in social community projects, like regularly volunteering at the St. Andrews Food Pantry, Community Baby Shower, and as a Teen leader for Jack and Jill of America, Inc, has been deeply rewarding. These experiences have given me a strong sense of empathy and commitment to service. Plus, helping advocate for my two autistic siblings has taught me patience, understanding, and the importance of standing up for those who may not have a voice.

These experiences have ignited my desire to make a meaningful difference in the world by ensuring that justice is accessible to everyone. I’m looking forward to combining my passion for law with my dedication to community service and advocacy to create a fairer, more equitable world for all.

"Who is Cat"

"Cat is WONDERFUL!  She lights up every room that she walks into, and she has the ability to instantly put others at ease.  She is creative, loving, and joyful. She is determined to see things through and is a fantastic leader.  I am so pleased to see the direction she is taking in life, and I cannot wait to see where it takes her.  Her future is BRIGHT!"

"Beyond her advocacy, Catherine is a beacon of creativity and time management. She has participated in numerous musical productions and serves as the lead singer in her high school Indie Pop Rock Band and Cheerleading Captain for her school. Her ability to share her creative gifts enhances her environment, making it a better place. "

When we started the first short film assignment this semester, one of the first projects I had everyone do was to develop five short film ideas that followed the same thematic push for character-based stories. When Cat turned in her five, I was ecstatic with all of the choices, as each was exciting and had lots of potential. Cat has been her team’s creative mastermind, forming the basis for her team’s idea. She also wrote almost all of the script herself. Her team’s project is the most deep and psychological of the three projects Film Core has in the works. The same can be said for Cat’s movie analysis - deep and passionate explorations of her feelings and observations with the film she watched. She has been the creative driving force for her team’s project, and her creative stamp is all over this project. Cat will undoubtedly showcase her acting prowess and production design as her squad moves into production. All this to say, there is nothing Cat can’t do. She is a Renaissance woman!

Cat is an interesting and lively critical thinker. Early in the semester, we had an impromptu meeting where Cat raked Lady Brett Ashley, a character in Hemingway's novel, across the coals! It was a scathing indictment of Lady Brett's motivation and the impact she had on the male characters in the book. It was also astute, specific, and supported with information from the text! I actually would be interested to see what that would look like in an essay!  What's more, when we finally got to a point in our discussions where we discussed Lady Brett, I called on Cat to provide her perspective. She was just as articulate to the class as she was to me.

I really appreciate her willingness to provide this kind of perspective with confidence and in-depth writing. She has a knack for conveying ideas in interesting ways, both verbally and in written form!

It has been a pleasure having Cat in French Revolution. She is diligent and engaged in the material. She collaborates well with her peers and offers highly insightful commentary during class discussions. I’m excited to see what Cat will do with the rest of the semester.

Cat is a pleasure to have in class. Cat adds a lot with her vocal talents and shows up to class ready to participate and contribute. She has received a lot of material and has done a good job and tackling her vocal parts in each song. We are very fortunate to have her in class.
